I'm thinking this is someone from the Pacific Palisades or Brentwood area... that is the most likely scenario for people not wanting to ruffle feathers... small community, kids in various private schools, private soccer clubs, business and real estate and investment deals in local area, blah blah blah.
I'd sue the bastard in small claims if that shit were pulled on my kids. I couldn't afford to pay it either, but even if I could or any parent could, he should pay up instead of sticking people with the bill. Jerk.
