Well, it's not a scientific opinion or anything, just that a guy i know who suffered abuse in the hands of his mother said it was way worse because people didn't believe him.
I don't really know if it is worse or better, each case is different and at least when it comes with boys, assuming they survive the abuse, there will be a time where they will be physically stronger than their mother. That's something. Also sexual abuse is less likely with women.
