I found doing Kickboxing kick drills shaped my thighs up really fast. Also a lot of the Pilates based leg work outs are a great way to tone up the legs.
Doing different squats will work different muscles in the thighs. So I would recommend exploring some different ways to do squats, espeically if you can do them in an up tempo cardio way too.
