I'm am soooo tired of the Britney circus. Enough already! I'd like to see anyone *anyone* else put under the same scrutiny as she's been under for the past two years and see how well they hold up. I personally would have lost it within the first few weeks. She can't even go into her own backyard without being spied on, having photos taken, comments made, etc.
She's not even entitled to the same mistakes as us mere mortals. Every little thing she does is analyzed, picked apart and then all the bad things about it are amplified and she's crucified. She shaved her head! OMG she must be suicidal for that to happen! She didn't wear shoes! OMG she must be on drugs. She didn't wear panties! OMG she must be a horrible neglectful mother!
The media, and us gossip-mongers, bear quite a bit of responsibility here. Not only for keeping it in the news, but for subjecting her to this type of malicious spotlight just to feed our gossipy appetites. Yes, she is famous. Yes, she did want to be famous - but is this really fame? Or is it just legalized stalking and slander?
As for what's up with Britney - The people truly in the 'know', the ones that really care about her won't be making press statements, or dropping tidbits for magazine fodder. What we see in the headlines isn't necessarily the truth even if it seems like it could be. Personally I'd rather give her the benefit of the doubt. It's not easy living in a fishbowl, going through a divorce, custody battle and staging a comeback - let alone all of those at the same time.
As for K-Fed - no doubts he's out partying hearty (there have been photos!) yet no stalkerazzi trailing his every move, pointing out his every misstep. When it comes to custody the whole picture should be looked at - who raised those babies during their marriage? Who still ensures their primary care (shockingly enough other mothers do leave the house and have social lives while their children are young)? Who is asking for a hefty price tag to drop the custody suit (that says it all for me there)?
