Default which fitness regimen gives the best legs?

I need some help from you guys...I do my share of fitness routine and eats sensibly too, most of the time, but I want more muscular definition in my thighs, do you have specific suggestion for that?
I regularly ride a mountain bike, go skiing and hiking, a trainer told me that step is very good for that...what do you think?
