A forum that I visit mentioned that people with common names like SMITH and JONES were on the list and the people were taken aside and hassled unnecessarily.
Maybe they still haven't fixed up this terror alert name list. I presume that you have to fill out a form to be taken OFF IT.
Just thought I'd post this for everyones information.

My husband and I just found out our last name was added to this list when we flew to Vegas. And we have the most white-bread, common name! We couldn't use the e-ticket machine for some reason and when we went and talked to the ticket lady, she said she was getting security after she punched in something on her keyboard. I laughed and she said, no, seriously. We had to wait like a half hour.
And as for the poster earlier who stated something to the effect that a flier shouldn't have asked anything when their luggage was checked three times or when they were told to shut up, you can bet I asked what was going on. And loudly. When I'm not doing anything wrong, you don't just get to treat me however you want. And you sure as shit don't get to flex your little muscles with me for nothing in return. You can threaten me with whatever you want or take my ass to jail cause I surely am not going to stand by and be treated badly for no reason.
