I didn't say that it was always you, but sometimes it very well could be. Some times it may have just been the person's fault and other times, maybe it was really yours. Like I said, different people perceive others differently. In my own experiences, and I've traveled a lot, no one has harassed me. I'm very nice to the people there and usually compliment them and make small talk while going through the process. The airport is boring anyway, so why not make a new friend while you're there?
