Forgive me, but it seems that in that industry, the whiter the better. The only way for a woman in India to be a big actress is to look more causcasian, or at least racially mixed. You won't see any dark brwon starlets, will you? That's a commentary on their caste system and internalized racism, not my own preference. I read what the poster said about there being many light people in India and I don't dispute that. It just seems that the darker ladies aren't held up as icons of beauty for the rest of the populace. I don't live there and could be wrong, it's just that I really like the Bollywood films (wish i could see more) and I don't see darker girls represented like that.
