You have other alternatives, just leave the cat alone and see what happens. Or get a 2nd opinion and let them know about your financial situation upfront. Vets are not always right especially about cats, so don't accept everything they say as gospel. One thing you said that the Vet said, your 15 year old cat has gingivitis. Well duh,that's not abnormal for a cat that age and I wonder why a vet would even bring that up.
