Ugh, on re-reading it does sound like I was accusing you of neglect - that wasn't my intention. I guess, I kind of feel about pets the same way I do about kids ... that if you aren't going to take care of them you probably shouldn't have them. Not judging at all though, I had pets in college that I didn't take good care of - but I loved them terribly. I guess my perspective on things has changed as I've gotten older. No harm intended, sorry to come off so snotty! Truly, this has to be a horrible decision to have to make and as others have said, you are the only one who can decide what's best.
