I don't know, Charlie was VERY sincere about Richie. Not so sincere about Denise, granted, but I wouldn't say he has any issues with Richie.

He knew Denise was going to move on and some point, just like he did. As long as the children are safe, which they are, then realisitically Charlie has nothing to do with who Denise dates. As I already said, and indeed Charlie has said here, he knows Richie and that's an advantage not a disadvantage. We're talking about a male perspective here, not a female perspective. Richie and Charlie weren't that close in the first place, but close enough for Charlie to say confidently that Richie is a good parent. That is all that Charlie needs to know.
