Now here's the thing. If these hollywood types want to take up a cause, fine, then do so. But stop spreading yourselves thin by doing this and doing that, pledging this, pledging that. I realize a couple of hundred thou is chump change to these celebs, but instead of throwing money around left and right why not pick one cause you truly believe in, and invest time and money to make a true difference?
Celebs of all people should know better than to entrust money with strangers, especially in another country where it's harder to keep track of things. If they want to donate money, fine, then let it be at that. Don't go around acting as if a couple hundred thou or whatever it is is going to change the world with some pet conservation project.
That money could be better spent feeding starving kids and families in the U.S. or other worthy causes. Yea yea, I know, it's their money, they are "doing more than others," etc. etc. But I've seen bill gates get more criticism for donating hundreds of millons for causes like AIDS and education in foreign countries, I'm no fan of him or his type but how is he any different from these celebs? Just my two cents and off my soap box.
