Angelina Jolie may sue head of aid group

A former ally in the battle against destruction in Cambodia with Angelina Jolie may be facing a lawsuit from the famous actress. The Associated Press broke the news Tuesday morning that an associate of Jolie revealed that the actress may be filing a lawsuit against Mounh Sarath, director of Cambodian Vision in Development, a man who Jolie once gave money and support.

Trevor Neilson, the philanthropic and political advisor to Jolie and Brad Pitt, told The Associated Press on Monday, “We are considering filing a lawsuit to recover the hundreds of thousands of dollars that is missing and which he was responsible for. We have specific evidence (of) him having taken the money, and we are considering whether to file a lawsuit or press charges against him in Cambodia.”
Originally, Mounh Sarath accused Angelina Jolie of having reneged on an agreement by discontinuing funds to the Cambodian group and those accusations opened an investigation by Jolie’s camp into just where the money was going. As Neilson said, “The sad reality is that this person who made these allegations was fired because we believe (he) stole.”
Angelina Jolie has already moved to make sure that her funds and support could still get to the people of Cambodia, setting up an independent organization to administer a new conservation project, according to Yahoo News. The new group is called The Maddox Jolie Project, after Angelina Jolie’s son, who was adopted from Cambodia in 2002, and has pledged over $1 million over the next five years for forest conservation.
Mounh Sarath already has come out and said that he’s willing to combat any charges, telling the AP, “I will fight any lawsuit and find out the truth and to see if they have any documented proof of the money stolen.”
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are currently in India filming A Mighty Heart, the true story of the widow of slain journalist Daniel Pearl. Jolie is starring and Pitt is producing.

I hope they sue the guy. He’s the same one blabbing all over the place that AJ backed out of the promise. And of course some *ahem* believe it.
