We identify with celebrities and get into a twisted mindset that the celebrities to who we are similar (color, gender, ethnic background, etc.), we support beyond all reason.

I agree. If it wasn't OJ involved and just another black person there would have been no media attention or all this mess. When have celebrities, when judged by their jury peers, ever been convicted of hard time or serious punishment?
