This pretty much sums it up. If gays use it in the sense of empowerment it is not so bad..when others who are clearly not using it in this sense and are not gay use it, it is not OK IMO...and it becomes something akin to hatespeech. I can understand a black person using the 'N' word(even though it kind of makes me uncomfortable...like when Grimm uses 'fag')..but I would NEVER use that word myself, as I am not black and cannot be using it in the empowering way a black person could.
