That's........not true at all. Sorry, but your friend is very misguided.
It is NOT a "big trend" for Japanese men to dress like women. Men in Japan pretty much dress the same as men in America and most places in Europe do. In fact, I'm sure many of them would be horrified that you think they all dress like women.
I'm guessing the magazine your friend brought was a visual kei magazine? Visual kei artists do crossdress a bit and wear extravagant, effeminate clothing, but most of them dress like ordinary people in daily life. Visual kei rockers do not represent how the general public dresses.
That was just bothering me, had to get it off my chest.
As for Gackt... I don't like the man...at all. He looks plastic and claims he's a vampire and god's gift to women.
There's just something really icky about him. And to think, so many women think he is sexy.
