Exactly the issue that came to my mind too upon reading this article. I thought Routh was all but out of the closet, like back in the spring, before Superman was released??
I remember (what seemed like) a very thinly-veiled blind item about a big-name gay director who wanted to out his new young male discovery who'll be starring in his next big-budget film but that the movie studio didn't want the young star to come out of the closet yet. It seemed so obvious. Oh well, either he's gay & this Courtney chick is his beard; or he's living a lie/trying to be something he's not. In which case the movie they're starring in together has an appropriate title:
