She does come off as very insecure - that looks like some kind of "please-don't-look-at-stupid-little-old-me"-routine. She looks nearly apologetic! I actually even feel a little bit sorry for her, she is so obviously uncomfortable, whether it's because of the way she looks (although she is obviously making an effort here) or because of the public embarrassment she's married to.
Don't know if she's always been like this in public appearances or if it's something new, but it seems really odd for someone who must be used to the spotlight. I've noticed the goofy gestures and the funny faces she makes before, though - and her posture is painfully bad, too...
