And I can't believe that you are tolerant of his behavior. It seems as though just because he's some famous movie star that people are giving him a break by saying "Oh he was drunk". I couldn't believe it when I saw the officer that arrested him who is also Jewish say that he never meant to ruin Gibsons career by making this thing public. No amount of racism should be tolerated. Yeah there are worst people out there but, it doesn't make bigotry and prejudice any less of a horrible disgraceful act.
I never once said I was tolerant of his behavior! But the truth is Mel was an excellent entertainer in his prime, but that's all he was... an ENTERTAINER! People who worship and hang on every word of someone that plays a role for a living are deluding themselves if they think these stars are all made of sweetness and light. They are people just like you and me, some a re decent, some are racist, homophobic motherfuckers that you and I would never give the time of day to if we actually met them.

Put this in perspective folks, it's no huge surprise, there have been hints of his true personality for years, but he was an excellent actor and a lot of us can still appreciate that fact while realizing that as a person he is part of the lunatic fringe that most people abhor.
