Could those be Havaianas flip-flops? If so, it still amazes me that in my childhood those were exclusive for poor people (medium class and rich people wouldn't be caught dead in them). I remember running around wearing just shorts and Havaianas til they were all wasted, and mom had to buy new ones in some crappy small market. Twenty years later, rich people wear them all over the world.
