I agree with you, MrsDark. The ongoing LOOOOONG back-n-forth arguments over Angelina matters & Jennifer matters does get tedious. The rabid fans of one of them who think that THEIR WOMAN was the one that did nothing wrong, of course, clash with the rapid fans of the other one of the two of them believing that THEIR WOMAN was the one who did nothing wrong. Sometimes, people just have to agree to disagree. I am also a BIG Angelina fan & have been since i saw her in Gia in 1998. I personally don't agree with the adultery she engaged in with Brad; i personally think it was a morally wrong thing to do--but that's just my opinion. It doesn't change the fact that i am still a fan of hers.--Of her acting work, and of her amazing humanitarian work. I am also a Jennifer fan. She always made me laugh on Thursday nights on Friends, from highschool right on through my days as a married woman. I personally think that Jennifer was the one who was wronged (the "wrongee"?, heehee), but that opinion is not colored by the fact that i am a fan of hers. Many of us just have highly differing opinions of the Ange/Jen situation--it deals with sensitive, touchy, moral issues, so the highly differing opinions are very understandable. And highly differing opinions lead to LOOOOOONG arguments. But one of the reasons Gossip Rocks forum is so awesome, is because we can have give our opinions on things no matter how harsh & have bickering disagreements over topics we strongly believe in & get all heated about--but at the end of the day, there are no hard feelings, cuz it's just a fun entertainment forum.

I assume you are referring to me as "*addict* above"? (I choose not to label or call myself "addict", as i no longer use drugs, and am many things other than a former cocaine user.) In any event, i did not say that people can't have a career while hiding their cocaine use. I too have seen plenty of people manage to maintain their career while using regularly using drugs.--In fact, I myself did just that. I was a quite hardcore cocaine user who even snorted drugs off my desk in my office, while maintaining a more-than-full-time high-stress job as Senior Paralegal to one of the top five Attorneys in our firm of 92 attorneys--a position i still have. What i was saying is not that people can't maintain their career while being a heavy cocaine user; i was simply saying that you usually see SOME signs of the person's cocaine use job-wise.

For examples of "signs" i'm referring to, in my case, during the period of my heaviest cocaine usage, my billable hours were significantly lower than compared to when i was not using cocaine. I looked somewhat more unkempt at work during my cocaine-using days--i.e. little makeup, unstyled hair, and typical outfit being a comfy blouse & 2nd-day-without-being-laundered-khakis.....as compared to my pre-and-post-cocaine-use-life when i'd typically wear straight-from-the-dry-cleaners dress suits and have carefully applied makeup & styled hair. During my period of regular using, most days i had bags under my eyes at work & looked tired more often than i had looked during my days of sobriety--thus making me less professional-looking to clients. I had a much harder time keeping up, overall, in my professional life, while on coke.

That's all i was getting at with regards to Jen Aniston--and of course, i/we don't know her, we only SEE her & HEAR ABOUT her thru photos & TV, but i was just trying to say that it would seem that if she were a significant cocaine user we would hear of SOME sort of speculation about her incapabilities to keep up in her demanding life as a performer working long hours, who had to have her lines memorized on time, who had to work out hard to maintain a very fit body along with a perfect tan & coiffed hair, and show up to interviews on time & chatty with no recognizable signs of fatigue and/or grouchiness (major signs of coke use), and show up to premieres, award shows, galas, & other high-wattage events fresh in personality & appearance. I've never heard any gossip about Jen falling behind in any of those areas.

I was just saying, in my opinion as a former coke addict who found it a very difficult struggle to even just KEEP my job during my days of using coke, that Jen appeared at all times to not only just KEEP her job but to do her job (and all the above-mentioned things that come along with it) with NO signs of drug addiction. Cuz, even though i kept my job, i definitely exhibited plenty of noticeable (though i tried to hide them) SIGNS of my addiction. (--coworkers chalked it up to personal tribulations i was going through at the time).

(Wow, i sure am rambling on, but) i just really think that if Jen were a coke addict, we gossip-lovers would have heard SOMETHING about the signs that drug addicts exhibit...that we would have heard about some SUSPICIONS... Remember Matthew Perry's drug & alcohol addictions? They were quite obvious. Like me, he held onto his job, but his job performance went down, and there were definitely ample SIGNS of his drug use--Remember his majorly-fluctuating weight around '99-'01? And concerned people who could tell something wasn't right were gossiping at the time that he was having a harder time remembering his lines, and was showing up late to work more often, and showing up to work looking tired, out of it, etc.... (Not to mention the dude drove his car into someone's house!)

I just think that there are always SIGNS when someone is a significant cocaine addict, which, judging from this Blind Item, the woman in the BI was--since it was significant enough for her husband to leave her over it....And a drug problem that significant would, in my opinion, exhibit some outward signs. (Geez, i sure can BABBLE today....Sorry for the long rant, that probably no one bothered to read anyway!)
