Chris Tucker is the highest paid actor in the world reports Roger Friedman of Foxnews.com. If true, that would mean Tucker earns more per film than the actor behind one of the biggest flops in recent movie history - Tom Cruise ("MI-3").
Friedman notes that Tucker, who has just signed a $25 million deal with New Line Cinema to make "Rush Hour 3", is on par with Will Smith who earns slightly less than $25 million per movie. The new deal, Friedman reports, is "play or pay" meaning Tucker gets paid whether the movie is made or not.
Friedman also pointed out that Tucker's career is limited to just the 2 "Rush Hour" movies which makes his pay rate an even bigger achievement. Both "Rush Hour" movies grossed $600 million worldwide combined."
