Because the movie didn't do anywhere near as well as they expected opening weekend. And because he's too delusional not to see that his *world's greatest father/husband* rants are causing him to lose even more credibility (esp with his female fan base) at light speed. Either that or he thinks the average joe (or jane, actually) is too stupid to know bullshit when they smell it.
