Katie Holmes' parents have met their granddaughter for the first time.

Suri - the 'Dawson's Creek' star's first child with actor-fiancee Tom Cruise - was born on April 18 but Katie's parents were not present at the birth.

Martin Sr and Kathy Holmes missed the big event because they had to fly from her bedside in Los Angeles to Florida just a few days before the due date.

However, the couple have now flown in from their hometown of Toledo, Ohio, to spend time with Suri, their daughter and Tom - who has been busy on a whirlwind world tour promoting new movie, 'Mission: Impossible III.'
