Re: Hugh Jackman and son at Lakers game (04/30/2006)
I really think that child is a girl
Seems not:
Quote:
They were married in 1996, and since adopting their first child last May, Furness and Jackman have agreed that only one of them will work at a time. "Hugh has been so greedy," Furness says, smiling, "that's he's been working back to back. I have no chance. But obviously, he's seizing the moment."
Furness tries to bring their son, Oscar, to Dad's movie sets for lunch each day. "Hugh's greatest fear is that he won't see his son enough," she says. Travolta and his family recently spent the weekend with Jackman's family. "When he's with the baby, Hugh is just like he is with adults," Travolta says. "He's interested. He cares. He's full-bodied with people."
Jackman and his wife were able to adopt Oscar fairly quickly because he's of mixed race. "We're still trying to have our own children," Jackman says. "But we've always known there's a need for mixed-race adoption. What's the point of queuing up for a blond, blue-eyed kid? Adoption, in the best sense of the word, means that regardless of physical or background traits, you're willing to take on that child and assimilate him into your family and community."
