• My personal fave involves Paris Hilton (who's always my first choice for any kind o' riffraff tawk). Look, I think I've traced the beginning of the frost between bitchin' Ms. P. and Vanity Fair's boss-man, Graydon Carter. According to sources who work deep within in the bowels of snitty Condé Nast (think folks who wash before and after they flush), after Paris, half dressed, graced the October 2005 issue, VF's subscription base went down considerably due to so many reader outrages and cancellations.
The chic rag adamantly denied this little numbers factoid, natch, but my publishing sources stood firm next to their poop. Trust. Oh, hell, what ninnies these zine peeps are! I would have sent out a damn press release saying how proud I was to stand by my politically incorrect babe, were I editor in chief, which I guess is one reason why I'm not.
