This article is written to sound like she was abducted and has died or something. Especially that last paragraph sounds like she's no longer with us. Figuratively speaking, maybe she's not.

I personally don't believe she was brainwashed. I think she's a willing participant in this charade. She was a B-level actress at best , C-level if we're being realistic, when she and Tom met. She hadn't done anything worth a damn in the 2 years since Dawson's Creek ended. Her career was in the crapper and Tommy needs to prove he likes chicks, so I think they concocted this bullshit. Maybe she's in a contract and receives $$ for her efforts, maybe enjoying more fame than she's ever had is payment enough. Either way, I don't feel sorry for her at all, I think she's in on it.
