Flacks outraged at Natalie Portman bump from Vanity Fair cover.
Quote:
March 20, 2006 -- MAGAZINE world insiders are still clucking over the peculiar placement of Vanity Fair's especially gushing Natalie Portman profile in the issue on stands now. "For the first time in, well, forever, [there are] two long-form celeb profiles in the same issue: Teri Hatcher and Portman, who got bumped from the cover because of Leslie Bennetts' creepy molestation 'scoop,' " sniped a higher-up at a rival rag. "It's practically unheard of for someone like Portman to be profiled in a magazine and not have the cover. At her level, it's cover or nothing. Her p.r. and the studio behind 'V for Vendetta' must have flipped but, in the end, decided it was better to have her in the mag than not. Needless to say, I'm sure they're outraged."

I just don't see her as such a huge star that she could demand the cover of VF.
