So this insecure woman is finally "in touch with what she should look like"??? This really is taking conformity too far. What we look like IS what we should look like. DUH!! It's bad enough women have been made to feel inferior about every part of their bodies normally revealed in everyday life: now we're supposed to hate the personal, normally unseen parts too! Give me a fuckin' break, docs! (And notice they're MALE doctors, although, sadly, there are likely women doctors doing this too.)
The women who think they're "ugly" or "abnormal"- AND the bastards who encourage them to think that- should read Our Bodies, Ourselves and A New View of a Woman's Body and look long and hard at the illustrations. Well-informed, grownup people get over the junior high ideal of wanting to look just like everyone else and appreciate their own (and their partners') uniqueness. I absolutely despise the pigs who profit by creating unhappiness in others. (Are you listening, diet and fashion industries???)
I don't mean to say that someone with prolapsed internal organs shouldn't have that repaired, just that IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!
