I don't use foundation much - I prefer the 'coverup' pressed powder for everyday which smooths out blemishes without looking too heavy. It also gives a nice matt finish because I STILL have slightly oily skin at my advanced age (the good news is I don't have many wrinkles either). BUT if I do use foundation I always use a slightly damp triangular foundation sponge which makes it go on much more thinly and evenly and you can get into all the awkward corners.
