Actor GEORGE CLOONEY thrilled fans in Upstate New York by hanging out and drinking with the locals at his modestly-priced hotel. The Oscar winner is filming thriller MICHAEL CLAYTON in a small town north of New York City and has won over local fans with his down-to-earth demeanour. Instead of a posh hotel, the actor was booked into a nearby Ramada Inn budget-priced hotel chain where rooms average $99 (GBP58) a night. Hotel receptionist MARY ANN BAMBERT says, "He was like 'Hi, I'm George Clooney.' He was an absolute doll. Everyone loved him." The actor headed to the hotel bar to relax each evening during his stay where he "tried to blend in with the locals", according to bartender BOB DiLUCA. The SYRIANA star made just one celebrity demand - an electric tea-maker. Bambert adds, "He was very-low maintenance. We didn't hear a peep out of him."
