I think if most couples had multiple homes there would be a lot more 'moving out.' It must be considerably easier to get a break from the old ball and chain when (a) you aren't married to begin with, and (b) there's always that big ass house in France waiting for you.
In circumstances like those, how do you even know when someone has left you? They could just be like, sorry, I gotta go oversee the renovations on the chateau.
