Now that the Tom and Katie thing is blowing up to ridiculous proportions, does anyone remember when the same rumours started circulating about Gere and Crawford, back when they were an early 90's 'Supercouple'?
Cindy was supposedly a bi, or 'lipstick lesbian', while the rumours were that Gere showed up in emergency wards every so often, escorting young men with ruptured colons.
They married to protect their images, so the story goes. They even took out a full page ad in the London Times, to officially deny their homosexuality. That was shortly before their bust up. Cindy said after that she thought the ad was a mistake.
That would explain why Cindy is none to concerned that hubby Rande Gerber is running around on her, and might even explain why he's running around on her.
By the way, Gere and Crawford met at one of Sir Elton John's Hollywood parties. Nuff said.
