I personally think Al's performances in Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico are his best. I thought he was hilarious in Dick Tracy too, as big boy. Now THAT was overacting
but since the movie was made true to the cartoon format, it fit just right.
I keep wondering about his voice, though. It didn't use to be as gravelly as it is now. Is he a heavy smoker or something?
