They are not shocked and it is not something new. It is, however, quite interesting they've singled out Angie and exposed her for something they all do. It's reminds me of a couple of years ago when several negative articles came out about Angie in mainstream publications (
including NYT, whose article tore her apart on several fronts, and Chicago Tribune which reported on her screeching fit when Brad's mom visited JA) shortly after a spate of stories about Angie not liking George Clooney.
