From the data collected by the ATLAS and CMS from the first particle acceleration tests that they conducted there was no evidence of the theoretical conditions necessary to create a micro black hole or a strangelet.
THIS HOWEVER in no way rules out the possibility, incredibly unlikely as it may be, that when they begin collision testing they will obliterate the world as we know it! Truth is, and most experts admits this - they are looking into the unknown with the LHC. (and thats the whole point of it, isn't it?)

Just to clarify MY stance on this - everything will be fine, they're not gonna blow up the world ... I just think it is fun to think about the possibility!
