This is gorgeous. Simple and understated, sharp and sexy. She should wear tuxedo and suit styles like that more, they look fantastic on her and she looks much more at home in that suit than she does in the strapless red dress in the bottom row, for instance. It's a pretty dress, but she looks uncomfortable in it.
I think the problem is that she seems to be so much a jeans and t-shirt kind of person. A lot of her evening and gala choices are safe, boring and make her look dull and uncomfortable.

Definitely because it was launched at the right time, by a skillful hair styllist. Probably because it was a flattering cut on so many people, with so many hair types - easy to pull off, even with a less than classically beautiful face. Possibly also because the Rachel character was a typical girl-next-door kind of person, easy to identify with.
Not because of La Aniston's stunning beauty or brilliance, if that's what you're driving at.
