Of course the media will be slanted toward Obama, since he's the one with the least political baggage. It was the same way when Bill Clinton first showed up on the scene.
Witchcurlgurl, I don't think the media had a bias toward Bush. It was more that they didn't have the balls to call him out on his bullshit policies, especially after 9/11 and they didn't want to come off as being 'unpatriotic', since that's how the Republicans were trying to cast anybody who wasn't pro-Bush and pro-Iraq.
