I call B.S. on this article. It's normal for the heart rate to drop when you push. The umbilical cord was too short??? Too short for what? Even if it did matter they would have known about it long ago at previous ultrasounds.
I've never heard of an umbilical chord that was too short but the heart rate dropping with pushing can be an issue. It happened with my daughter and they also planned an emergent Csection. Her heart rate came back up when I changed positions though so I got out of it.
