I'm convinced cats are far more resilient then we give them credit for. Mine went missing the day we were flying to FL for vacation!!! We put out a big bowl of food and hoped for the best. When we got home (two weeks later) she was snuggled up with a big tomcat in our backyard, she'd lost a little weight but was no worse for the wear.
