Movie star SHARON STONE has launched a scathing attack on her native America, insisting the nation isn't doing enough to help those suffering from AIDS.

The 47-year-old beauty is horrified by the lack of support for even US victims of the incurable virus, and condemns her fellow countrymen for dismissing the disease as a solely African problem.

She says, "There is this feeling that AIDS has gone away and it hasn't. In downtown Los Angeles there are two whole streets of homeless people with Aids who have no access to drugs. A child dies of Aids every minute, and they're not all in Africa."
