One thing I love about Toronto are all the festivals we have celebrating all the diverse cultures. the food, the fashion, the music.. all summer long. That's what I mean about retaining your ethnic heritage and sharing it.. not locking yourself away in an enclave where you don't assimilate.

PS: the battle of thermopolye(sp?) was Pre-christian and Pre-muslim - it was Greek against Persian.
