I think the loss was the result of a combination of things:
1) People didn't want to see
Dadchuleta win;
2) People felt Archie would be better off maturing for another year or two before seriously pursuing music;
3) Not to take away from Cook's win whatsoever, but let's face it, Simon steered Tuesday night's show. He purposely set David A. up for defeat by praising him in an effort to ensure sympathy votes for Cook....and it worked. If you want to see votes soar, piss off the fans. That said, I do think Cook is worthy of the title. He's a good guy...a very talented guy. There were no losers last night.
I was pretty saddened last night when Archie didn't win, but after seeing several of his interviews today, he's obviously very content with the outcome..perhaps even relieved. He's genuinely happy to see Cook with the title. To see him stress free gives us a whole different view of David. This kid is the real deal.
