Ok, I have 2 small children, not old enough to have a computer or cell phones...but let me just say this:

I think the reason that parents do not take away computers or cell phones from children is because they want them to be ACCESSIBLE. I agree with everyone that doesn't have kids that says 'gee, it's easy, take this stuff away--what's the problem?'...to SOME DEGREE. Computers, it could be argued, might be needed for school. Sure, drive them to the library right?? None of this is as easy as it sounds to do--especially if you work, and have other responsibilities. Is it being lazy? Perhaps, but not necessarily.

I know kids that are 7-8 yrs old with cell phones, simply because their parents want to know where the hell they are all the time. AND in case of emergency. Just saying....

I am completely disagreeing with anyone. I just wanted to point out some other possible factors.
