I caught a bit of Apocalypto on one of the movie channels before I had to switch channels.
Jesus freakin' Christ there's so much gore and suffering that I really think, after Passion of the Christ was much the same, that Mel Gibson revels in seeing brown people and jews suffer violently, anyone he deems uncivilized or lesser than him. It wasn't even for the sake of making social commentary, like Schindler's List, nor even a study in gore like many a zombie movie or the Saw/Hostel type movies. It's like he just loves seeing his sick fantasies acted out in movies, under the guise of misunderstood art.
Fuck that shit, I'm watching Evita now. I'm still amazed by how much Madonna improved her voice by taking voice lessons for this movie.
