They were (and maybe she still is) both frequent guests on The Howard Stern Show and were good friends w/Howard and Beth O. Howard asked them numerous times, on the air, about kids. All the times that I heard him ask this, RR said that she was on the pill, but wanted kids in the future....
Though I think John wanted them sooner rather than later.
