Since when would your children need to know the sexual preference of an actor in a movie they're watching? Unless they're playing a homosexual in the movie, why would it ever even come up? I mean, do you have to explain to your kids every time you watch a movie with them that the man likes to kiss girls or vice versa?
Maybe I'm missing something.

There's still a lot of homophobic people out there who CANNOT get beyond reality when they watch a movie, particularly if it's well known they're gay.
Wild Hogs was a Disney movie. A gay man (Travolta) may never have gotten cast due to a presumed box office stigma.
