Remember how Anne Heche's movie with Harrison Ford tanked after she came out? It may not have had anything to do with that, (I neve saw the movie so I don't know if it was any good) but you can bet studio bosses took note of that and shoved closeted actors further into the closet, setting back any progress for gays in Hollywood for decades maybe.
