The thing is that Scino-nuts are never never wrong so if the don't get what they want when they want it (Tom Thumb wants Steven's $$$ and perhaps...), then someone must be actively working against them. In this case, with Tommy's very very limited intelligence (HS dropout) he can only think as far as Amy - it would take too much cognitive reasoning to think that he has any role in his estrangement with Steven - can't happen, not possible.
