The Hollywood wars. All quiet the western front?…. don’t believe it for a minute!
Theft, Innuendo, Retreating financial backers and the American in London
With the temporary lull in the raging Hollywood wars we finally have the chance to add a new chapter to our ongoing story of mr moviemaker and mr moviestar. We use the word lull with caution, because al my seem ‘quiet at the Western front’ we all know that ‘looks can be deceiving’…don’t we? In that is exactly what is going on here, both teams are just taking a little step back to take stock of the damage; received and inflicted. We leave it up to you to decide where the damage has been the biggest, and take you through some of the events that have taken place.
By the time we finish writing we expect the war to start in full blaze again, within weeks, perhaps even days . Keep your eyes and ears peeled and you know what we are talking about.
Back to our story. With the declaration of war, issued by mr moviemaker, mr moviestar still manages to find the time to work on a new movie. And despite the heartache caused by the loss of the friendship with a dear friend, his spirits are upbeat and expectations high. His high spirits, however, were soon to be dashed. Mr moviestar received a phone call that devastates him; the country previously agreeing to allow mr moviestar to film his movie in their country, suddenly has had a change of heart. They prefer mr moviestar finds a new location…..
The outraged mr moviestar starts his own investigation and soon learns sudden calls have been made to the once so friendly country. He learns the calls have been made by friends of a man the country admires tremendously….friends of mr moviemaker. He is not able to discover the discover the exact content of the conversations that have taken place , but does learn the friendly advise has been given that maybe it would not be such a good idea after all to allow mr moviestar to shoot his movie in their country. Mr moviemaker uses all his power of persuasion to convince the country to allow him to shoot his movie, but…the answer is friendly, yet persistent; it would be better if he would find another location….
Mr moviestars hardship does not end here, however. When he finally manages to complete his movie. Despite the fact that more than a few financial backers, out of the blue, suddenly retreat their financial guarantees. And, to make matters even worse, the movie is hit with the hardest critics mr moviestar has ever faced in his entire career. It does not without it’s effect, the movie fails miserably at the American and international box office. A unique experience for mr moviestar.
It doesn’t take mr moviestar very long to realize what is going on, and, in his desperation, he once again, tries to contact mr moviemaker. But, all his attempts to contact his former, powerful friend, fail. A wall of concrete cement has been formed around mr moviemaker, and mr moviestar does not have the strength and power to break through. Mr moviemaker has become unreachable ….
Mr moviestar turns to his friend of the church of strong believers and they try to set his mind at ease. Counter measures have been taken and will hit mr moviemaker. Hard. Mr moviemaker is shooting a big budgeted new movie and the church of strong believers has has managed to bring one of their secret weapons within the enemy camp!
Weeks after that, the movie world is rocked to it’s core by a surprising leak from the set of mr moviemaker’s new movie and his ferocious reaction. A young actor ‘accidentally’ spills some beans about the much anticipated new movie, and mr moviemaker seems willing to rip the poor young actor apart. His furious reaction to the incident shocks more than a few within and outside the industry. This is not the easygoing, experienced heavyweight they thought they knew, this is a man willing to send a young man’s career down the drain! What in the world is going on here?!
To be entirely honest, we don’t know the inns and outs of this story either, what we can tell you is that the young man has had a history with the church of strong believers and that his legal representation was played by and provided for by?… you guessed it; the church of strong believers. We have our thoughts about this but leave it to you to draw you own conclusions….
But it does not end here. Not much later there is another shocker, a theft from deep within mr moviemaker’s camp! The official word is movie documents and materials were stolen from one of his offices, but we have been told were of a significant personal nature. Another source tells us it was not the intention to take something from the office in the first place, rather to leave something behind that would allow the church of strong believers to obtain more information about mr moviemaker… ( don’t you hate it when you have a bug problem?…)
We don’t have to tell you the story of the impressive sting operation the police undertook to retrieve the belongings. You have all be able to read all about this in the papers. You probably also read the robber was let go on bail. Did you read who put the bail up…do we really have to tell you?… Again we’ll leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions.
Right at the end of round one of the Hollywood wars a fascinating meeting took place between mr moviestar and a certain theater director in London… let’s call him ‘The American in London’. The meeting took place in California where the American in London temporarily took residence.
Mr moviestar and the American in London are not really known as good friends, but do know each other. When mr moviestar called the American in London and told him they need to meet because mr moviestar is worried about a mutual friend, you guessed again; mr moviemaker, the American in London agrees.
During this meeting mr moviestar tells the American in London mr moviemaker is in serious trouble and in desperate need of help from his real friends. The American in London is somewhat taken aback by this revelation surprised he is not aware of this and asks what the problem is. Mr moviestar asks the American In London if he is aware of the trouble that have risen between mr moviestar and mr moviemaker. The American in London replies that he would have to live on mars not to have heard about it.
Mr moviestar tries to tell his side of the story to the American in London who, according to several of our sources witnessing their meeting seems to grow increasingly impatient the longer mr moviestar speaks. In the end mr moviestar remarks that he is aware the American in London is sympathetic to mrs moviemaker. He is, however, also aware that the American in London is good friends with mr moviemaker and mr moviestar hopes that this will be enough to make him realize the damage mrs moviemaker is doing to him.
The American in London tells mr moviestar he is completely unaware of the picture mr moviestar is trying to paint. He adds that should there be a problem, mr moviemaker is a big boy and can take of himself. He stresses he will not meddle in private affairs and urges mr moviestar to do the same. Now Mr moviestar hands the American in London papers with information he says was by thorough investigation of some good friends of mr moviestar. The American in London briefly scans the papers, then hands them back to mr moviestar and tells him he is not interested. But mr moviestar insists that mr moviemaker needs to know this.
The American in London seems to be losing patience with mr moviestar and asks, why he doesn’t go to mr moviemaker with this information if he is so worried? Mr moviestar tells him mr moviemaker no longer wishes to speak with mr moviestar. The American in London answers that he is not really surprised to hear this and adds that if mr moviestar thinks the American in London will pass mr moviestars information on to mr moviemaker, mr moviestar is nuts.
Mr moviestar answers that that is not what he wants, but says he knows the American in London is well connected, maybe he can talk to certain people in London, willing to publish the information since American media seems to scared to print it. He adds he hates things have to be done this way but that mr moviemaker needs to be warned. Sadly enough this seems the only way left to achieve this.
At that the American in London gets up and tells mr moviestar he has no desire in getting caught up in the war between mr moviestar and mr moviemaker and leaves.
Not long after the meeting between mr moviestar and the American in London, mr moviemaker receives a visitor. It is ( can you guess?) The American in London….
The American in London informs mr moviemaker about his intriguing meeting with mr moviestar and warns mr moviemaker mr moviestar/or whoever might try and pass on severely damaging to the press in London since he can not get an American paper or magazine the publish it.
Mr moviemaker wants to know if the American in London knows what it is all about and he replies that’ as far as he could see it looked as if mr moviestar and his friends had spoken to just about everyone who hates mr moviemaker’s wife with a passion and allowed them to unleash all the slander and innuendo they could muster. The American in London says he will keep his ears open and will let mr moviemaker know if events take place at the other side of the Atlantic he should know about.
Two weeks after their meeting mr moviemaker receives a phone call from the American in London, from London. Mr moviestar /or his friends, did indeed try to feed the media in London their story..
The American in London then tells mr moviemaker he already spoke wih several people and that those he spoke to will not go with the story after checking it’s credentials. But there might be one of two willing to run with it. Mr moviemaker thanks the American in London for his warning and assistance and that he will take care of it from here.
Last we heard no paper in London is willing to publish the story
Stay in touch we will be back with a lot more, soon!
